Technique
A silver rim (银口, yín kǒu) finishes the edge of a vessel with a fine line of silver. Against a dark glaze the metal reads as a clear, luminous boundary that defines the outline of the form.
Blue Fir records the silver rim as a decorative feature in its own right. A metal rim is not in itself evidence of overglaze painting, so it is not classified under a decorative system unless the maker describes the method.
