Triple-Firing

Three sequential firings for complex multi-system decoration.

Triple-Firing

Production process involving three distinct firings for pieces combining multiple decorative systems — typically underglaze blue, primary overglaze enamels, and gilding. Each firing introduces thermal stress. Triple-fired pieces are among the most technically demanding in the Jingdezhen tradition.
